BEWARE OF BOGUS USER GROUPS
AND CONSULTANTS CLAIMING TO BE A UNE-P CLEC

After twenty years of telecommunications consulting and seven years setting up CLEC's and IXC's it has come to our attention that another scam has hit the consulting arena. ISG-Telecom recently found a firm claiming to be a CLEC which has a "user group fee" charging 15K+ to join and seems to have no benefit to its clients.

ADT claims to be a UNE-P CLEC but our research shows otherwise:

• ADT was certified as a Reseller in Texas July 22, 1998. They have never been certified in Texas as a UNE-P under that name or any other name.
• ADT NEVER HAD A CUSTOMER BASE - they have never provisioned a SINGLE UNE-P order
• ADT'S CLEC CERTIFICATION IN TEXAS WAS REVOKED FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• ADT claims to have operated a successful UNE-P CLEC - according to the Texas PUC they have ZERO customers.
• ADT claims they are a UNE-P CLEC under the name National Discount Telecom when in fact they DO NOT own one share of such Texas entity.
• ADT forfeited existence of their Texas LLC which automatically forfeits any PUC certification they may have held. (see below)
• ADT formed another corporation in Nevada in 1993 which was revoked by the Nevada SOS office (see below)
• ADT forms another corporation in Nevada in 2004
• ADT claims they have certification pending as a CLEC in Nevada - when as of 2/6/04 NO SUCH application was ever filed with the NEVADA PUC. (http://puc.state.nv.us/TELCOM/telcom_dockets.htm#2004o)

BOTTOM LINE: NEITHER ADT OR ITS PRINCIPLES HAVE OPERATED A SUCCESSFUL CLEC!!!
NONE OF ADT PRINCIPLES HAVE EVER FILED A SINGLE CLEC APPLICATION OR TARIFF!
WHY WOULD YOU WANT THEM GIVING YOU ADVICE ON RUNNING YOURS?

TAX LIENS? FRAUD? BANKRUPTCY? ILLEGAL ACTIVITY? IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FOR YOUR COMPANY?

HIRE only a consulting firm with the knowledge to handle the work in house not farm it all out to others.

In addition they also claim to be a UNE-P under the name of National Discount Telecom - which THEY ARE NOT! Neither ADT or ERIC BROWN has ever been certified as a UNE-P CLEC. They have never handled a single certification so they have no clue as to how to do it. Be careful of hiring an ADT attorney to complete the application - THIS DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE ABILITY TO OPERATE AS A CLEC - even after certification is approved.

For the price of the annual user group fees you could have become a CLEC instead of wasting your money with consultants
making false claims about the fact that they are a CLEC themselves.
